Biography

Freda Neill is the Clinical Skills Manager in the School of Nursing and Midwifery where her primary responsibilities include leading the clinical skills teaching team, developing the clinical teaching components of the undergraduate nursing curriculum and supporting the clinical tutors teaching in the practice areas. From 2001 to 2007 Freda was the Project Manager for the Transistion of Pre-registration Nursing and Midwifery into the college.

Description

Higher Education with a particular interest in the development of teaching clinical skills for pre-registration nurses and the intergration of these skills in the work practice area and simulated learning in the clinical skills teaching rooms. Developing Interprofessional Learning at school and faculty level. Further interests include primary care and family work in the community.

  • Summary
    • National Digital Learning Repository (NDLR) funded by the HEA, awarded €40,000. A member of the Schools project team contributing to the nursing community for the National Digital Learning Repository to support greater collaboration between Third Level Institutions. Currently I am one of a team of three staff from the school working in collaboration with a team from the School of Nursing, DCU, to develop on-line tools for Clinical Skills teaching. The first phase of the project is due for pilot in November 2007.
