New research has been released by an International Team of researchers led by Dr Matthias Sinnesael (Discipline of Geology, School of Natural Sciences) and Dr Boris Karatsolis (Vrije Universiteit Brussels) showing for the first time a strong correlation between ancient ocean sediments and the cooling of the Northern Hemisphere (approx. 3.6 million years ago).
This is a crucial piece of research for climate researchers around the world in understanding these long-term processes and the effect they have on climate.
