Three Biomedical Engineering School of Engineering members have received prestigious awards at the TERMIS-EU 2023 meeting. The Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society is a leading international learned society dedicated to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. At their recent 2023 EU meeting in Manchester UK Professor Danny Kelly, Professor Michael Monaghan and PhD candidate Tara Ní Néill were awarded the prestigious Mid Term Career Investigator, Robert Brown Early Career Investigator, and overall 1st prize Oral presentation prize respectively.
The Mid Term Career Award is an award for individuals that are within 10-20 years after obtaining their PhD. The Midterm Career Award recognizes an individual, who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research, during the midterm of their career with setting up a successful research group and clear evidence of outstanding performance.
The Robert Brown Early Career Principal Investigator Award recognizes an individual, who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research, during the early stages of their career with clear evidence of a growing profile.
The 1st Prize Oral Presentation Award is given to the best oral presentation delivered by a PhD candidate or postdoctoral researcher (within three years of receiving their PhD).
Given that over 1000 researchers attended this event, we are extremely grateful of this tremendous recognition of the excellent work in Biomedical Engineering taking place in School of Engineering through the Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering and Trinity Centre for Biomedical Engineering.
