An Ghaeltacht

As part of the Degree in Modern Irish each student will choose a certain dialect from Connacht, Munster and Ulster and are required to spend a minimum period of two months in a Gaeltacht area. There are grants available to students every year to spend time immersed in a Gaeltacht environment and many students spend summers working in Gaeltacht areas and on summer courses. More information regarding this requirement can be found in the course handbook and from the Department office.
