An Ghaeltacht

As part of the Degree in Modern Irish each student will choose a certain dialect from Connacht, Munster and Ulster and are required to spend a minimum period of two months in a Gaeltacht area. There are grants available to students every year to spend time immersed in a Gaeltacht environment and many students spend summers working in Gaeltacht areas and on summer courses. Each summer an intensive course is held exclusively for Trinity students in Áras Mháirtín Uí Chadháin, Connemara, giving students a great opportunity to bond with their classmates and improve their Irish before the next academic year.
