TCPID Annual Business Partners Meeting December 2022

On Thursday December 1st 2022 we were thrilled to welcome our TCPID Business Partners on campus for the first time in 3 years for our annual Business Partners meeting. The meeting was held in the Trinity Long Room Hub once again. Attendees included representatives from both our existing business partners and companies who are considering joining the network. We were so happy to get to meet with everyone in person after such a long time of only seeing each other online.

The partners were welcomed to Trinity College by Professor Carmel O Sullivan, the Head of the School of Education. Professor O Sullivan thanked all the partners for their ongoing support for the TCPID. Marie Devitt then introduced the entire TCPID team to everyone and outlined the plan for the day.

The partners were then divided into pre-assigned groups to share experiences and knowledge with each other. Partners who have worked with the TCPID for a long time were in groups with those who are new to the TCPID placement and internship process. As always, we also had a number of representatives from companies who are considering joining the network.

At the end of the group discussions we had a fantastic, informative feedback session. The TCPID team took notes of all the main discusion points and we plan to compile these to send to everyone shortly.

Our Trinity College Dublin Provost Linda Doyle then joined the meeting and thanked all the business partners for their support on behalf of Trinity College. The Provost spoke about how she was inspired by the internships taking place within our business partners and how this has led to now having 4 graduate internships within Trinity College itself.

One of these interns, Sadbh Feehan then spoke about her experience as a student in Trinity, about her internship in A&L Goodbody and about her current internship working in the TCPID. Sadbh has been a wonderful addition to the TCPID team and we are very lucky to have her!

We are really looking forward to developing our partnerships even further in 2023. We are incredibly grateful to everyone for continuing to support the TCPID and for working with us to create more and more opportunities for real inclusion within the workplace.
