    Margaret joined the IDS-TILDA team in August 2017 as Project Manager to the study. Margaret has a nursing background and holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree and a Master of Nursing Research degree. She previously worked as a researcher for the University of Western Australia, working in the field of Aboriginal and rural health. One aspect of this role involved working on a national, multi-phase study which aimed to identify innovative initiatives and programmes for supporting Aboriginal cancer patients and their families. She was also involved in a number of evaluation studies of accessible health promotion materials and of cancer facilities in rural areas. Other areas of research she has been involved in include examining health workforce issues in relation to rural and Aboriginal communities. She has also carried out extensive research looking at the role of men in nursing.

    Margaret has been involved in co-authoring published papers for peer-reviewed journals based on original research and literature reviews. She has also co-authored a number of reports for government bodies and other stakeholder groups. Her research interests include the provision of inclusionary health promotion, screening and treatment services for marginalised groups, as well as health workforce issues.

    Margaret also holds degrees in Economics and previously spent many years working as a project manager in the IT sector. She brings her combined experience in health research and project management to IDS-TILDA.
