My name is Mei Lin Yap.

I am a young woman with Down Syndrome.

I work in Cpl Recruitment Agency as a Senior HR Assistant.

I am an advocate and a voice for people with Intellectual disabilities.

I was introduced to technology at primary level, I went on to secondary school where I worked with computers. After completing my Leaving Cert, I did a PLC in Business Technology with Marketing. I went on to third level where I obtained a Certificate in Software Applications. I obtained a Diploma in Event Management & Public Relations in Dublin Business School. Through all of my education computers played an important role. I use computers in my work and in my leisure time I use technology. I use it every day for various things like communicating with family/friends over WhatsApp and Facebook. I love using social media. I spend a lot of time on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Using social media keeps me connected to family and friends, informed about what is happening in the world and fully engaged in life.
