The Old Library Redevelopment Project is a collaborative effort that relies on partnerships and support from Ireland and across the world.

Government announced funding in relation to the Old Library Redevelopment Project on May 20th, 2021. The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage pledged €25 million to the project over the next six years.

The new Book of Kells Display case and Treasury refurbishment, which forms the first component of the Old Library Redevelopment Project was funded by Fáilte Ireland and a gift from donors, Carol and Murray Grigor.

Inspiring Generations – the Campaign for Trinity College Dublin enables Trinity to pursue ambitious projects in innovation, education and research – and achieve our overall goal of inspiring generations to come.

The campaign supports the critical Old Library Redevelopment Plan and the ambitious Virtual Library programme, to safeguard the Library and its invaluable collections and to ensure Trinity will continue to be able to discharge its trusted role as the custodian of Irish, European, and world heritage for the future.
