TCD RDO "The Expert View: Raising the Curtain on NIH Funding"
SAVE THE DATE: 17th October 2023.
The National Institutes of Health is the largest funder of health research globally, and it serves as an umbrella organization for 27 Institutes/Centres that cover all areas of biomedical research. It has an annual budget of c. $46 billion, and between 80-90% of these funds are awarded in external grant funding. NIH funding is open to foreign researchers as both direct award and sub-award recipients, but the complexity of the application process, federal compliance, and managing awards as a foreign awardee can be a daunting prospect.
Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin are delighted to host the NIH’s Sarah Scharf, Regional Program Director for Europe, Israel and Multilateral Organizations, in the International Fogarty Center. This session will cover NIH basics for international researchers. The session will also include an expert panel of NIH funding recipients for a Q&A session that will follow.
The event is open to all TCD and UCD Staff and Researchers only - please use your @tcd or @ucd email to register.
Booking is essential, limited spots available.
The event will be held on Trinity College Dublin’s Central Campus. Details on the time and venue to be sent by email to all attendees.
