The Research Development Office is running a facilitated in person Writing Sprint for applicants to the upcoming Royal Society SFI University Research Fellowship Scheme call (call opens in July with a deadline in September 2023).
Writing Sprints are fast-paced facilitated writing workshops to help kick start the proposal development process. Writing Sprints encourage applicants to start writing early (in a positive environment) and provide the opportunity to share knowledge and ask questions.
Date and Time:
Thursday 13th July 2023 - 10:00-13:00
Venue: Hybrid (in person venue on campus TBC and online)
- 10:00-10:15: Coffee and welcome
- 10:15-13.00: Interactive writing workshop
Attendees will participate in practical exercises to draft key elements of the research proposal including:
- Lay Summary
- Research Proposal – aims and objectives
- Research Proposal – methodology and milestones• Justification of host organisation
- Personal Statement
Following the Writing Sprint the workshop room will remain open for quiet writing time, an RDO team member will be present to answer any questions related to any aspect of the application.
After registration, participants will be provided with details of the on-campus venue.
