Study Within A Trial (SWAT): Free One-Day Workshop
Challenges in designing, conducting, analysing, and evaluating clinical trials exist. Embedding studies within trials are helping address these challenges by helping to uncover ways to ‘do research better’. This free one-day workshop, supported by the Health Research Board Trials Methodology Research Network (HRB-TMRN), will introduce the concept of undertaking a SWAT, including how to plan and implement a SWAT. The workshop will be of interest to those interested in embedding research in research and may be of particular interest to those who may wish to plan a SWAT as part of a future HRB Definitive Intervention and Feasibility Award (DIFA) application (€20,000 funding offered for embedding a SWAT in a DIFA). 09.30-10.00 Registration - light refreshments will be served 10.00-15.00 Workshop - this will incorporate a short lunchbreak, and catering will be provided for attendees Facilitator: Prof Valerie Smith, PhD, PG-Dip (Stats), MSc, RNT, RM, RGN
