Linte na Farraige Exhibition
Línte na Farraige is a collaborative project inspired by the stunning light installations of Finnish artists Timo Aho and Pekka Niittyvirta. This art and science collaboration involved scientists from Trinity College Dublin and Maynooth University, the Climate Action Regional Offices (CAROs) and Local Authorities, as well as designers from Algorithm and Native Events. Línte na Farraige is a recipient of the inaugural Creative Climate Action fund, an initiative from the Creative Ireland Programme in collaboration with the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.
The installations by Timo Aho and Pekka Niittyvirta and developed by the Línte na Farraige project team, mark potential future surge heights. They are based on emissions scenarios from the recently published Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Report 6 (AR6), and from Irish tide gauge data.
During Green Week 2023, there will be a series of display boards about the Linte na Farraige exhibit on show in the Arts Building opposite the Lecky Library entrance.
