Exercise & Healthy Ageing
The Academic Primary Care Centre (APCC) is a collaborative which aims to bring together Trinity, healthcare and other partners in Tallaght to research and innovate in order to improve health in the local community, and generate approaches that can be applied elsewhere. As part of the APCC collaborative, this lecture series is co-hosted by Trinity College Dublin and An Cosan. These public events bring academic staff of Trinity College to the local community in Tallaght to deliver high quality, accessible talks with a view to stimulating debate and community engagement on some of the hot topics of today! The events are open to everyone to attend, with limited numbers for on-site attendance but unlimited access online via Zoom. Please join us in these interactive events as we explore ways to engage in these topics outside the classroom. Dr Noel McCaffrey is founder and CEO of ExWell Medical, a social enterprise that offers structured, medically-led exercise programmes in community settings to people with diverse chronic illnesses, on referral from health care professionals. ExWell has a particularly strong programme in Tallaght. He is also a consultant in Sports Medicine in Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital where he runs a musculoskeletal injury clinic and is a Foundation Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine.
