DU Microbiological Society 2023 Focused Meeting: Food Microbiology

The Dublin University Microbiological Society (DUMS) Focused Meeting is a FREE annual trainee-led conference held at Trinity College Dublin, sponsored by Yakult Science. Our committee is made up of motivated and enthusiastic undergraduates, postgraduates and post-doctoral fellows of the Department of Microbiology. We aim to bring together microbiologists all across Ireland to discuss relevant microbiological topics. ​The event will take place on Thursday, July 20th in the Moyne Institute of Preventive Medicine, Trinity College Dublin. Food and beverages will be provided. The event will be followed by a networking session at 37 Dawson Street. This year we have chosen food microbiology, a hot topic in the field in relations to microbial impact on nutritional intake, immunological response and food safety. We will have three keynote speakers at the forefront of academic, industry and governmental collaboration, along with selected trainee talks spanning three different sessions.
