Department of History of Art and Architecture Research Seminar
Hilary Heron (1923-77) was the first Irish artist to exhibit modern sculpture in Ireland. This paper will discuss Heron’s career and the research journey that led to her first retrospective which will open at the Irish Museum of Modern Art next month along with an associated symposium at the Trinity Long Room Hub. The exhibition will travel to the FE McWilliams Gallery in November.
