Leeann Lane (Dublin City University) and Niamh Cullen (Queen's University Belfast) discuss their respective research into the lives of Mary MacSwiney and Darina Laracy Silone as part of the Modern and Contemporary Irish History Seminar Series. Niamh Cullen (QUB): 'Writing the Restless Life of Darina Silone; An Irishwoman in 1940s.’ Leeann Lane (DCU): ‘Writing the biography of the so-called “Cork virago”: Mary MacSwiney (1872-1942)’. The Modern and Contemporary Irish History Seminar Series will take place at 2.30p.m. on Wednesday in the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts & Humanities Research Institute. It provides a forum for discussion and dissemination of new ideas, perspectives, and research on Irish history, Irish Studies and cognate disciplines. All are welcome.
