9th Workshop on Speech and Language Technology in Education (SLaTE)
A two-day conference organised by the School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences. SLaTE 2023, hosted by the Phonetics and Speech Lab. at Trinity College Dublin (abair.ie initiative), is a dynamic conference dedicated to promoting the field of Speech and Language Technologies in Education. This multidisciplinary area fuses cutting-edge technologies with education, aiming to enhance teaching and learning outcomes. This year’s conference is a satellite workshop of INTERSPEECH. Along with the core areas of SLaTE, this year’s workshop has a particular focus on (i) educational technologies and minority/endangered languages, and (ii) educational technologies, disability and inclusion in the minority language context. SLaTE 2023 will have a joint Day 2 with the Special Interest Group in Under-resourced Languages (SIGUL), an initiative that aligns perfectly with the workshop’s themes. SLaTE serves as a vibrant platform for the exchange of recent developments and information, fostering an ideal environment for networking between a diverse spectrum of researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry.
