  • Abstract submission guidelines

     

    Those who would like to present their work at the 'Minding Mothers with Morbidities II' conference, either orally or as a poster, are invited to submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee using the online form provided.

    Oral and poster presentations should focus on the theme ‘Maternal Morbidities' including presentations on women's postpartum health problems, and successful prevention, health promotion and treatment strategies. Studies relating to the health of women before pregnancy are also welcomed when pregnancy and/or childbirth-related benefits are demonstrated. Applicants may submit more than one abstract for review, however, the maximum number of presentations that will be offered to any one presenter, will be one oral presentation and one poster presentation.

    Important notice from the organizers of the Minding Mothers with Morbidities (MMM) II Conference

    We have been closely monitoring the current situation related to the coronavirus pandemic. After careful consideration, we have decided to move the MMM II conference to an online event.

     

    Submission Deadline:

    The deadline for submission of abstracts closed at 5pm (UTC+01:00: Edinburgh, Dublin, Lisbon) on the 17th August 2020.

     

    Information for authors

    Please read this information carefully before proceeding to the online submission form. All abstracts must be submitted online using the abstract submission form.

    • A limit of 250 words, excluding the title, applies. Abstracts greater than 250 words will be automatically truncated.
    • The title entered on the submission form will be used as the presentation title.
    • The corresponding author is responsible for the abstract content. This author is the contact person for submission and communication purposes and is also responsible for disseminating information related to the abstract to the co-authors.
    • To facilitate the blind review process, individuals and institutions should not be identified in the body of the abstract; e.g. use ‘author's institution' instead of using the name of the company, university or hospital.
    • Please ensure your abstract does not contain spelling, grammar, or scientific mistakes.
    • No changes can be made to the abstract after the submission deadline.

      Abstracts should include the following information:

      Background

      The background should provide information that is useful for introducing your research and that makes clear to the reader why you are asking your research question. Objectives should clearly indicate the research question and objectives of the study and its importance.

      Methods

      Methods should contain sufficient information to be able to understand the experimental or qualitative design, the analytical techniques and the statistics or procedures for assessing rigour used in the study.

      Results

      Results should answer the research question, based on the methods used.

      Conclusion

      The conclusion of the study should be directly supported by the results, include implications for policy or practice. Please avoid speculation and overgeneralisation.

      Please ensure that all funding, sponsorship and financial relationships with commercial entities are disclosed.

      Ethics

      Please indicate that ethical approval, if required, was granted.

       

      After submission

      • The corresponding author will receive an e-mail confirming that the submitted abstract has been received.
      • The corresponding author will be notified by the email address provided during submission whether their abstract has been accepted.
      • Abstracts can be accepted either as poster or oral presentation.
      • Any change of the presenting author needs to be communicated via email.

      Oral Presentation Guidelines

      Oral presenters will be allocated 20 minutes per presenter (15 minutes for their presentation and 5 minutes for questions and answers with the audience). If the presentation exceeds 15 minutes, the moderator will shorten the Q/A session which follows.
