Outbound Students (Trinity)

Spending a year living, studying and / or working abroad is an invaluable experience and an aspect of a languages degree which is particularly valued by employers.

In all programmes, apart from Trinity Joint Honours (TJH), students spend their third year in a German or Austrian university.

For TJH students, however, it is very strongly advised and fact, virtually all students taking TJH German do spend a year abroad during their course. This may be in the second year, but much more commonly students take a year ‘off books’ after their third year and spent it in a German-speaking University or as a teaching assistant in a German school.

Inbound Students (Visiting)

The Department of German has for many years welcomed numerous Erasmus and non-EU students, whose presence greatly enhances the animated atmosphere in the Department.
