Craft My Street is a pilot project under the Smart Docklands Pilot Call 2024 that puts city-making into the hands of young people using Minecraft. Researchers from UCD delivered workshops to Dublin schools where 139 students designed 54 ideas for community development in a virtual model of the Docklands. By combining open-source geospatial data with interactive gameplay, the project gives children a voice in shaping their city.
The initiative is part of Smart Docklands - an innovation programme led by Dublin City Council and CONNECT, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre headquartered at Trinity College Dublin.
