The Right to be Informed
Individuals should be informed about the processing of their personal data. There are specific provisions set out under GDPR as to information which should be provided to individuals via a Privacy Notice when collecting personal data.
What is a Privacy Notice?
A Privacy Notice is often referred to as a privacy or data protection statement and it is simply a statement by which an organisation describes how it intends to process personal data about individuals. For example, the Trinity College Dublin Privacy Notice is available here.
