Congratulations to the Faculty of AHSS academic staff who are Principal Investigators (PIs) in Rinn Quantum - Research & Innovation in Quantum Information Science and Technology, which was awarded a total of €39,621,376 across seven Irish HEIs. The FAHSS Principal Investigators are:

  • Professor Deirdre Ahern (School of Law)
  • Assistant Professor Mairéad Hurley (School of Education)
  • Professor Linda Hogan (School of Religion, Theology, and Peace Studies)
  • Associate Professor Alison Fernandes (School of Social Sciences and Philosophy)

Rinn Quantum places a strong focus on inter- and transdisciplinary research. These PIs will lead research programmes over the next eight years that explore the societal, legal, ethical and philosophical implications of emerging quantum science and technology and will also play a key role in the Centre's leadership.

Government Minister James Lawless launched the Rinn Network - Research Ireland's new network of seven research centres, at a recent event in the RDS Dublin. This is an investment of €460 million in research over the next eight years.
