Dr. Tamara O'Connor

Profile

Tamara is an educational psychologist with over thirty years’ experience of helping students enhance the way they study and learn. She works on the Student Learning Development team in the Trinity College Dublin Student Counselling Services. Tamara earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also has a Master’s in Education from Trinity College and a Doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of East London. She is a Chartered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland.
Tamara uses her knowledge and experience of psychological and educational principles to help students perform to the best of their ability and to build their resilience for the future. She has worked with individuals across a wide range of ages and abilities as well as in a variety of educational and business settings. Her research has focused on student and peer learning in higher education and the science of learning. Tamara has a special interest in positive psychology and the role of emotions in learning.
