Computer Science, Linguistics and German
This degree program combines elements of science and arts in a way which is interdisciplinary, innovative and attractive to employers in a number of areas.
It has computational linguistics as its core, with computer science, linguistics, and German language study as constituent disciplines.
Among the avenues for graduates from this degree are employment or postgraduate study in labs for research and development in language technology; further study or direct employment in the software and consulting industries (notably on an international scale); further work in fields relating to German language or to linguistics.
Linguistics is the science of human language; computational linguistics, among other things, analyses and designs solutions for the communication problems which arise in human-computer interaction. Like most sciences, computational linguistics also has engineering applications.
