Academic Staff Development

Trinity College Dublin is committed to recruiting, retaining and developing our academic community as a key driver of our standing as a world class university. As part of our support to developing academic staff, we initiated a mentoring support service, launched in 2010.

Initially, a focus group was set up to help develop the purpose and scope of the mentoring initiative and a proposal for new mentoring initiatives for Academic Staff was approved by the University Council on 17th February 2010.

There are currently two programmes available - the Early Career Mentoring Initiative for Academic Staff, which offers all new academic staff a mentor within their first year, and the Momentum Programme designed to support academics, more established in their careers, who wish to enhance their academic potential through mentoring.
