Vice-Provost/Chief Academic Officer

The Vice-Provost is the Deputy President and Chief Academic Officer of the College with overall responsibility for research and education in the university and with special responsibility in relation to academic staff matters. Professor Linda Hogan was appointed 71st Vice-Provost and Chief Academic Officer on 1st September 2011. The Vice-Provost/Chief Academic Officer is responsible for academic and research policy, and for strategic planning.

The Vice-Provost/Chief Academic Officer chairs the following:

• Planning Group
• Academic Management Group
• Heads of School Committee
• Quality Committee
• Library and College Archives Users' Committee

Together with the members of these groups, she coordinates strategic planning, research, undergraduate and postgraduate education, quality and the student experience.

The Vice-Provost / Chief Academic Officer reports directly to the Provost and is an ex officio member of the Board of the College, the University Council, and Executive Officer Group.
