The way that we do things in College is changing

As you may be aware, the way that we do things in College is about to change. We recognised that some of the administrative processes in College were becoming outdated (leading to such problems as students having to queue in the rain to register, or struggling to get letters proving they were students), and as a result Trinity has invested in a brand new student information system which will be accessible to all staff and students via the web portal my.tcd.ie.

What does this mean for me?

The main impact for you in the short-term is that you will register for the 2012/13 academic year online via the my.tcd.ie web portal. All fee invoices/payments (including the student contribution charge) for the coming year will also be handled online via the portal.

What do I need to know now?

· From late-August onwards, registration for ALL students (both new entrants and continuing students) will be carried out online via the web portal rather than by queuing up in Front Square.

·You will still have to collect your student card, SU Diary etc. in person – the Luce Hall will be open to facilitate this. Please click on the relevant link above to view the timetable for ID card collections. Students should only come to collect their ID cards during their assigned time slot.

· Registration will commence in late August and students will be e-mailed and invited to register in batches over a number of weeks. Students should check their my.tcd.ie accounts regularly over this period.

How will I get access to the web portal?

Continuing Students

Access will be provided to the web portal using your existing username and password.

New Entrants – Undergraduate

Access will be provided to the web portal before you register. Your username will be provided to you at offer stage and you will be advised on how to get your password prior to registration.

New Entrants – Postgraduate (for those who were admitted using PAC)

Access will be provided to the web portal before you register. Your username will be provided to you and you will be advised on procedures for obtaining your password prior to registration.

New Entrants – Postgraduate (for those who were admitted using the new student information system)

Usernames and passwords for these applicants were generated when they made their application using the new system – these still apply.

You will NOT be able to access the new web portal until you have been notified by Trinity so please refrain from attempting to do so.
