Special Examination Papers within the session

The provision for special examination papers within the session is only made where a student has missed one or two papers through grave cause beyond the student's control, and can reasonably be expected to be in a position to complete all examinations within the session in question; where more than two papers are missed, the student will be required to present for examination in those papers at the next examination session available to them. In the annual examination session such permission will be granted normally only to a student in the Junior or Senior Sophister year of a course where the course regulations do not allow for a supplemental examination in that year of the course. Application for the granting of a special examination paper within the session should be made by the student's tutor to the Senior Lecturer who will determine the appropriateness of this course of action with reference both to the particular circumstances surrounding the request and to the timing within the examination session.
