Attendance of Examiners at the Examination Venue

It is the duty of examiners to be present inside the examination venue at the start of any examination they have set in order to deal with queries from candidates or invigilators, and thereafter examiners must be contactable by telephone for the duration of the examination.

Where an examination paper has been set by two or more examiners, arrangements should be made to ensure that at least one of the examiners concerned is present at the start of the examination.

Examiners should identify themselves to the Chief Invigilator on arrival at the examination venue.

In exceptional circumstances, examiners who are unable to be physically present at the venue must be contactable by telephone for the duration of the paper in question.

Before the commencement of each examination session, Directors of Teaching and Learning are asked to return to the Examinations Office a list of the names and contact numbers of all examiners.
