Admission to Examinations
No notice is required of intention to take an annual or supplemental examination in the course for which students are registered (degree, diploma or certificate), except in the case of students who are 'off-books' with permission to present for examination. The onus lies on individual students to ensure that they are correctly registered for any elective modules in which they intend to present for examination.
Students are not permitted to present for examination in a paper which is not part of their registered course of study without the express permission of the Senior Lecturer.
In order to receive full ECTS credit for a course, full-year Socrates and visiting students must present for the end-of-year examination in their chosen subjects unless alternative assessment methods have been agreed in writing between the Trinity College academic area(s) that teach the course(s) and the student's home university. The Office of International Student Affairs will register full-year Socrates and visiting students for the modules on the basis of information provided to that office by students.
