Note Bokmål NOR1211 and Nynorsk NOR1212 are often both translated as Norwegian but they are, in fact, 2 separate languages both of which are official languages of Norway and as such are treated as distinct subjects.
The percentages of students attaining each average point in the Vitnemål are compared with the percentages of students attaining the various points levels in the Irish leaving certificate and the comparison is determined on that basis. The uneven relationship reflects the distribution of results.

Guideline Indicative equivalence with Irish leaving Certificate

  • As a guideline it is anticipated that the indicative equivalence for the Świadectwo Dojrzałości (Certificate of Maturity) will be calculated as follows:
  • Only written scores are considered
  • The ranking for the best 3 subjects at advanced and the best 3 at basic are averaged independently. The same subject can be counted at both.
  • The 2 averages are combined with a ratio of 2:1 extended: basic to arrive at an overall weighted average.
