Transition Year Physics Experience (TYPE) Week
We have just completed a another TYPE week. 48 Students from all over the country came together to learn more about careers in Physics, participate in experiments, attend lectures and produced project posters for the TYPE Poster Competition.
Two teams were deemed to be the winners:
Project: Space Weather - the team was:

- Clodagh O'Donovan of Loreto Secondary School, Fermoy
- Caleb Teo of Wesley College, Dublin
- Killian Lawton of Clonakilty Community School, Cork

We will be running two one-day events in February 2013.
- TYPE - Nanophysics Day, Tuesday, 26th February 10am - 3pm
- TYPE - Astrophysics Day, Thursday, 28th February 10am - 3pm
Application Forms have been sent out to Schools today, Friday, 11th January 2013.
These events are open to all schools except those who sent students to the November 2012 TYPE programme. A maximum of two students can be nominated to participate in the TYPE events in February 2013. Qualifying transition year students will be accepted to participate in one event.
The programme is suitable for those students with a strong interest in Science. Please note due to pressure of numbers, it is likely that no more than one student from any one school can be accommodated.
