TRANSITION YEAR PHYSICS EXPERIENCE (TYPE) WEEK

The next TYPE Programme is scheduled for 4th - 8th November 2013.

On Tuesday 10th September, application forms were sent out to all Schools addressed to the TY Co-ordinator.

We have just completed a another TYPE week. 48 Students from all over the country came together to learn more about careers in Physics, participate in experiments, attend lectures and produced project posters for the TYPE Poster Competition.

Two teams were deemed to be the winners:

Project: Space Weather - the team was:

• Sophie Lauritsch, of Loreto College, Foxrock
• Eoghan O'Brien of St. Brendan's College, Killarney
• Thomas O'Connor of Colaiste Cholmain, Fermoy

Project: Optical Tweezing - the team was:

• Clodagh O'Donovan of Loreto Secondary School, Fermoy
• Caleb Teo of Wesley College, Dublin
• Killian Lawton of Clonakilty Community School, Cork
