TYPE is the Transition Year Physics Experience at the School of Physics and is a programme of events that introduces TY students to physics and the physicists at Trinity College Dublin. In addition to the week-long TYPE Programme we also run two thematic TYPE Days – one in Physics & Nanoscience and one in Astrophysics.
TYPE Programme and Days 2018/19
The Transition year Physics Experience (TYPE) programme application process for 2018/2019 is now open. It will run from Monday March 4th to Friday March 8th 2019. Two TYPE days will follow in May with specific dates to be confirmed.
An online form has been sent to post-primary schools around the country using contact details from Department of Education website. In this form you will be asked to provide the contact details of the TY co-ordinator of the school, and details of two students which you nominate. In the future the TY co-ordinator details provided will be used for direct contact.
Where possible (in mixed schools) we ask you to provide one male and one female candidate in order to aid with gender balance. The online form will be open until Friday the 30th of November. As we can only accommodate 44 students for the week long TYPE event, candidates will be chosen at random from the valid applicants. All schools will be notified with the outcome by 10th December 2018. Applicants that are not successful for the TYPE week will be given preference for the TYPE days which will take place later in May.
If you have not received an email with the online form and would like to be considered for TYPE 2018/2019. Please send an email to email@example.com with the name and address of your school and contact details (email and telephone) of the TY co-ordinators. Only requests from valid TY co-ordinators/school staff will be considered.
