TCIN researchers win two Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) awards.

(i) The SFI Early Career Researcher Award recognises outstanding early career research talent.
Recipient: Dr Tomás Ryan for his work on memory storage.

(ii) The SFI Best Reported Impact Award recognises the potential impact of an SFI researcher’s award and their commitment to maximising the impact of their research.
Recipient: Professor Jane Farrar for her work towards developing therapies for inherited ocular disorders.

TCIN researchers win two awards at the Young NSI Conference 2018

(i) The poster prize was jointly won by Caoimhe Gaughan and Anurag Nasa both medical students working over the summer in Veronica O'Keane's group with Erik O'Hanlon at TCIN for their poster on high resolution tractography.

(ii) Congratulations to Dr Kathy Ruddy from TCIN on winning the NSI Early Career Investigator Award. Kathy will now deliver a Prize Lecture at the British Neuroscience Association’s “Festival of Neuroscience” (BNA2019)

April 2017-TCIN researcher Deirdre Robertson wins FameLab Ireland award

ISSF Award

TCD was awarded a Wellcome Trust-SFI-HRB co-funded Institutional Strategic Support Fund (ISSF) grant in 2016 to (i) provide seed funding to starting academic staff working in areas of interest to the Wellcome Trust;  (ii) promote strategic international collaborations and engagements in Neuroscience and the Humanities; and (iii) build a new programme in Neurohumanities and Public Engagement.   
 
This collaborative grant, connecting the Long Room Hub, Science Gallery Dublin and the Institute of Neuroscience, as well as other areas of College is held by Prof Mani Ramaswami of TCIN. The award is housed and administered in the institute.  Calls for applications for funding will be announced periodically, but ad hoc applications will also be considered.
