Centre for Medieval & Renaissance Studies
The Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, one of the Trinity Research Centres, was established in the spring of 1999 with two major aims:
- to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between scholars working in the fields of Medieval and Renaissance studies both within and outside Trinity;
- and to raise the profile of Medieval and Renaissance studies at a national and an international level.
The Centre organises conferences, seminars, and public lectures on a regular basis, and has recently launched a schools liaison programme. It also offers a taught interdisciplinary M.Phil. in Medieval Language, Literature and Culture. It has developed close ties with a number of other institutions, works closely with the Society for Renaissance Studies, and is a member of CARMEN, the Confederation for the Advancement of Research through a Medieval European Network. It has a refereed book series, “Medieval and Renaissance Court Cultures,” published by Brepols.
