2018 NMPDU DSKW Conference held in Tallaght University Hospital

School of Nursing & Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin was well represented at the recent 2018 NMPDU DSKW Conference held in Tallaght University Hospital. Dr. Colman Noctor gave a very well received keynote speech around nursing identity in CAMHS’s team. The Dublin Midlands hospital group research partnerships with TCPHI were also highly visible. Seamus Connolly (TUH) presented on his role as a Clinical Support Nurse Manager at Night-a position currently funded by NMPDU that was developed from a collaborative scoping research study between TCPHI and TUH. Ongoing collaborations between NGH and TCPHI were also presented with one study examining the COPDisc Project and another focused on patient perceptions of Hand Hygiene. SJH-TCPHI research on the development of an urinary continence care bundle was also highlighted. Research work between TCPHI and MH CHO area 7 was presented by Eddie McCann, Grainne Donohue, Jessica Stewart and Jessica Eustace-Cook. They presented their JBI systematic review examining sexuality and intimacy issues among people with serious mental illness.
