Who I am and current role:

Certified midwife and graduate health care manager. Worked as a midwife for 21 Years. Doctoral thesis: Self-Rated Health (SRH) and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) in women after childbirth. Since 2011, Professor of Midwifery Science at the Hochschule für Gesundheit-University of Applied Sciences in Bochum.

Main research topics: System-immanent factors (e.g. birth room design, time of the day, hospital level) as a trigger to medical interventions during childbirth/ Women’s Health/ Human Rights in Childbirth.

Coordinator of the German Guideline Vaginal Birth at Term/ Member of the German  Federal Expert Group Perinatal Medicine/ Advisory Board Member of the Society for Quality in Out-of-Hospital Obstetrics/ Former chair of the German Society of Midwifery Sciences.
