Sarah Maria Griffin is a writer from Dublin. She is the author of the novels Spare & Found Parts and Other Words For Smoke, which won an Irish Book Award in 2019. In 2025 she was shortlisted for the Library Association's Author of the Year Award at the Irish Book Awards. She was the Writer in Residence at Maynooth University between 2017 and 18 and the Writer in Residence at the DLR Lexicon in 2019-19. She was the Writer Fellow for the Edna O'Brien Scholarship at MOLI in 2021. She writes about video games for The Guardian, and her nonfiction has appeared in The Irish Times, The Winter Papers, and The Stinging Fly, amongst other places. Her most recent novel is Eat The Ones You Love. Her forthcoming novels are Strange is the Light, in September 2026, and Everything Not Saved, in Spring 2028. She also occasionally makes zines.
