This course, delivered by Trinity School of English staff, will provide an introduction to major authors of poetry, drama and prose through close examination of selected texts, chosen from among those prescribed for the Leaving Certificate. The course will be of special interest to teachers and pupils preparing for the examination but the lectures will be directed towards a more general audience as well.

About this event

Fee
€50 for the entire series. Individual lectures are €5 each. Concessionary rates for the full series will be €40 or individual lectures €4 each.
The concessionary rate applies to students, OAPs, unemployed, groups of 20+, TCD staff and Graduates.

Pay at the Door: It is possible to pay on the door at the night, however, only those who have pre-booked can be guaranteed admission.
Online/Video Recordings of Lectures
The lectures are happening live in the Edmund Burke Theatre, Arts Building, Trinity College Dublin. However, they will also be recorded. If you purchased a ticket to a particular lecture, to several lectures, or to the entire series, you will be emailed a link to the video recording of the lecture or lectures as soon as these are available (usually the very next day).
The recordings will be available and watchable at any time until the end of the Evening Lecture series.
We regret that it has not been possible to livestream the lectures as they happen.
Schedule:
There will be ten weekly lectures beginning on 30 September and ending on the 9 December 2025. Lectures will start at 7pm on Tuesdays. Eventbrite registration for individual lectures will close at 6pm on the relevant day.
