Laidlaw Library

Opening in 2027, the Laidlaw Library will be Trinity’s first digital library and will champion modern, collaborative work and study methods, offering access to a vast digital collection, including e-resources, digitised materials, and born-digital archives. As a UK Legal Deposit Library, it stores over 1 million e-books and 11.5 million e-journal articles for Ireland.

The space will be designed for flexibility, giving researchers and students a place to be, think and work in collaborative zones and closed study and meeting areas.  It will also connect with the Portal Innovation Hub under construction adjacent to it.

Aligning with Trinity East’s sustainability goals, the library will refurbish a building in Grand Canal Dock, spanning 2,000 square metres and will become the home of Trinity Trailblazer and Laidlaw Scholar activities.
