Trinity was founded in 1592, and today the university is a vibrant and cosmopolitan community of students from around the world. Its bustling 47-acre campus, in the heart of Dublin, is the ideal environment for studying, learning, relaxing and living.
Exceptional educational experience
The pursuit of excellence through research and scholarship is at the heart of a Trinity education. Students learn from inspiring academics who are world leaders in their field. The BESS degree programme strives to educate global citizens who will have a real impact on society and who will enhance public debate and understanding of key economic, political, business and social issues.
Broad and flexible curriculum
The BESS programme gives students the time to engage with four areas - Business, Economics, Political Science and Sociology - combined with the opportunity to specialise to a high level in one or two of these disciplines.

Study abroad opportunities
We encourage our students to participate in study abroad programmes at distinguished universities around the world such as Georgetown University, Washington DC, the National University Singapore and ETH in Zurich. This is a unique opportunity for students to not only enrich their academic education but also to gain invaluable intercultural, language, social and civic skills.
Recognition of outstanding students
Foundation Scholarship, a Trinity tradition with a long history and high prestige, identifies students who demonstrate exceptional knowledge and understanding of their subjects. Scholars are entitled to have their course fees waived, to take rooms on campus, and to attend Commons for free.
Practical student supports
To help ensure students get the most out of their time at Trinity they are assigned a personal tutor to provide personal and academic support. There are also a wide range of learning supports to aid the transition to University, an excellent Careers Advisory Service and an Alumni Career Network for support after graduation.
Entertaining and lively student life
There so much more to the Trinity experience than lectures and study. With over 200 sports clubs and societies ranging from debating to rugby, from drama to science fiction there is something to suit every interest. There are also many societies and student-run publications of particular interest to students studying Business, Economics, Political Science and Sociology.
