Professor Carmel O’Sullivan, School of Education and Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, reflects on another inspiring Summer School in Drama and Theatre Education - a joyful celebration of creativity, learning, and connection, co-taught with Dr Susan Kennedy Killian, Professor Erika Piazzoli, Chris Cooper and Dr Susanne Colleary.

Selection of images of participants at the Summer School in Drama and Theatre Education 1What a summer! Each year at Trinity College Dublin, the School of Education runs a vibrant and inspiring Summer School in Drama and Theatre Education, and this year was no exception.

For two unforgettable weeks, teachers, creatives, artists, and drama enthusiasts from around the world came together to explore powerful ways of working with drama across all age groups and art forms. From early childhood to older adults, participants engaged with big issues like climate change, AI, diversity and inclusion through the lens of creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Participants can take the full M.Ed. programme, or just attend the Summer School as a form of CPD.

We were especially honoured to welcome the legendary Professor Cecily O’Neill, a global pioneer in drama in education whose presence lit up the room and left a lasting impact on everyone.

Thanks to all the brilliant students and facilitators who brought energy, fun, and deep engagement to this unique learning space.

Here’s to more creative futures!
