Applications are now open for four interdisciplinary PhD scholarships available as part of the 'Refugee-Thrive: Building trauma-informed refugee resilience to strengthen inclusive societies' Project – Application deadline 12 June 2025.

Four funded PhD positions are available:

  1. Refugee Children in Irish Schools
  2. Linguistics and English Literature Focus
  3. Law and Refugee Rights 
  4. Peace Studies and Refugee Integration

The Trinity Centre for Forced Migration Studies has secured funding for four PhD scholarships through the 2025-26 Trinity Research Doctorate Award Group Based Projects scheme. The scholarships support the innovative 'Refugee-Thrive: Building trauma-informed refugee resilience to strengthen inclusive societies' project.

About the Trinity Centre for Forced Migration Studies

The Trinity Centre for Forced Migration Studies was established by Dr Rachel Hoare (School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies) to foster interdisciplinary research and develop teaching and training in relation to forced migration. The Centre creates a collaborative community of researchers, practitioners, and experts by experience to seek funding opportunities, develop educational programs, disseminate research findings, and promote networking initiatives.

Dr Rachel Hoare, Director of the Trinity Centre for Forced Migration Studies, leads this interdisciplinary initiative with colleagues from multiple schools: English; Law; Linguistics, Speech and Communication Studies; Medicine; Nursing and Midwifery; Religion, Theology and Peace Studies; and Social Sciences and Philosophy.
