The 2025 O’Czytani Polish Literary Festival, co-organized by the Biblary Polish Cultural Centre and Polish Studies, School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies, Trinity College Dublin, wrapped up on 8 June 2025 in Inchicore, Dublin. The festival, in its fifth edition this year, has always brought high-profile Polish writers to Dublin, alongside musicians, translators, and publishers. This year’s edition started with a workshop on smartphone photography of the streets of Dublin, followed by workshops on multilingual creative writing and publishing, held at the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation. The main event took place at the Biblary headquarters in Inchicore on Sunday, where the audience packed the house for a meeting with Mariusz Szczygieł, Poland’s best-known and most translated non-fiction writer specialising in long-form reportage. The meeting was followed by a concert by Cezariusz Gadzina, a Polish saxophonist based in Brussels, who performed with a band of Polish diaspora musicians.

This year’s edition was the first to expand its reach outside the Polish community in Ireland, offering main events in English translation. The festival was part of Dublin City Council’s Inclusion Week to showcase the culture of Ireland’s largest minority as part of the multicultural identity of Dublin. The official opening of the O’Czytani Festival took place on 26 May in Inchicore and was attended by the representative of the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Michael Pidgeon, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Artur Michalski, Head of the Polish Consulate in Dublin, Maciej Wójcik, as well as the representatives of Dublin City Council, South Dublin County Partnership, cultural partners, and local businesses.
