Michael Becker, School of Law, provides expert comment in an article about accusations of genocide and complicity in genocide in Gaza. The Journal.ie 09 August 2025: Legality vs Reality: Could Western leaders face consequences for complicity in genocide?   

 

Professor Lorna Carson, School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences, is mentioned in an article on the successful funding award announcement that included the LIFELANGS project on which she is co-Principal Investigator with a colleague in QUB. The project aims to foster a shared understanding of linguistic diversity and promoting social cohesion. It will create a centre dedicated to studying the languages and identities shared across different communities across the island of Ireland. Professor Stephanie Holt, Social Work and Social Policy, is quoted in an article on a research study in which she is co-author. The research draws on the voices of 20 children who have engaged with Ireland’s child protection and welfare services and finds that children in the child protection system have spoken of their fear of stigma, loss of privacy and being kept “out of the loop” by those who decide on their care.
