Professor Patrick Geoghegan, School of Histories and Humanities and Trinity Long Room Hub, provides expert comment on Daniel O’Connell in a number of media items.

 

Dr Supriya Kapoor, Trinity Business School, is quoted in an article on global trade and protectionism saying that ‘Rising protectionism and economic nationalism may lead to a gradual fragmentation of financial markets, where capital becomes more regionally concentrated rather than flowing freely across borders.’ World Finance 28 July 2025: The global trade war has just started.

 

Lucas Paulo da Silva, PhD Student, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, writes about his study in which he ‘sought to examine how the longstanding boycott of the rightwing tabloid the Sun in Liverpool affected people’s political attitudes up to 2004’. The Conversation 06 August 2025: Did the Sun boycott make Liverpool more leftwing? My study indicates it may have shifted views.

 

Dr Linda Doyle, Provost, wrote a post on her LinkedIn page about the real-world impact of a University and how Trinity has a significant impact on the development of public policy. She lists Trinity research and expertise which has been referenced multiple times in the Houses of the Oireachtas and those who appeared on Oireachtas committees in recent weeks. Among this list are many staff from the Faculty of AHSS, some of whom who have featured in the Faculty staff in the media lists or in separate news items on the FAHSS website.
