The School of Law invite you to book launch of Nóra Ní Loideain’s EU Data Privacy Law and Serious Crime: Data Retention and Policymaking (Oxford University Press 2025). The event will bring leading legal experts and practitioners together to discuss the themes and findings from the book (details here) concerning the right to privacy in the EU and ECHR legal orders and its future within the context of serious crime and national security in an era of AI and data-driven surveillance.
Topics also to be covered include the case-law of the Court of Justice of the European Union and European Court of Human Rights, the EU’s ‘Better Regulation’ and ‘Simplification’ reform programme and the European Commission’s consultation on the future of data retention law and law
