Clair Cooper

I completed my Ph.D. at Durham University. Using an environmental justice lens, my thesis asks can nature-based solutions improve quality of life by exploring the nexus between these solutions and structural conditions that influence poor health in cities. In my current role, I’m a Research Fellow with the ERC NovelEco project led by Dr Marcus Collier. In this role, I use participatory research methods to explore how communities of practice, including vulnerable groups, perceive wild spaces in cities. My wider research interests are influenced by my experience in the water industry in the UK, where I was responsible for designing community-based programs for water-use behaviour. These interests include nature-based solutions and novel ecosystems, behaviour change, nature connectedness, environmental justice and mixed-method approaches.
