Ms Caroline Gabriella Ponsonby cp

Caroline completed her BSc in Ecology at the University of East Anglia in 2016. She was also an Erasmus student at Uppsala University and researched how semiochemical attractants could be harnessed as a tool for entomological conservation in Skåne. She then worked in commercial laboratories until joining Olombria in 2019 as a researcher specialising in fly pollination behaviour. Here she was based at the Natural Resources Institute (NRI) and NIAB EMR. Now she is a PhD candidate studying flies as crop pollinators. Her supervisors are Prof. Jane Stout at Trinity College Dublin and Prof. James Cook and Dr Jonathan Finch at Western Sydney University. Caroline’s interests lie in Syrphid olfaction, pollination, migration and breeding behaviours.
