Research interests

I am a PhD candidate on the multidisciplinary project ‘Digitising Biodiversity: Landscape-Animal-Digital-Human Translations’ funded by the Kinsella Challenge-Based E3 Multidisciplinary Project Awards. I am researching the translation of more-than-human interactions via digital means to human understanding. By carrying out ethnographic fieldwork, my research explores how researchers from various disciplines centralised around the theme of biodiversity in Trinity College Dublin process and create meaning from the information extracted from the more-than-human world.

I hold an MA in Anthropology from UCC where my thesis explored human-animal interaction with a focus on the cultural practice of beekeeping in the south-east of Ireland.
