Climate Leadership Development micro-credential.

Trinity College Dublin and Ireland’s Knowledge Centre for Carbon, Climate and Community Action (IKC3) are delighted to present a new micro-credential Climate Leadership Development.

This micro-credential is specifically designed for public sector and private enterprise professionals who seek to improve their Climate Leadership skills and knowledge. Given that the climate crisis affects all parts of society, the micro-credential is cross-sectoral.

Starting in September 2024, the micro-credential will take place fully online over six months, and is structured around four key monthly components:

  1. Webinars with subject experts to build expertise in different aspects of climate leadership.
  2. Self-directed learning to improve knowledge in relevant areas.
  3. Peer-to-peer knowledge exchange to discuss how course content might be implemented in the workplace.
  4. Group mentoring to support professional development.

Learners can expect to build their professional network and gain key knowledge specific to climate leadership. Students will work on group assignments to demonstrate how they will tackle a climate challenge from a leadership perspective. Each student will also submit a reflective learning report to document their individual leadership development plan.

The micro-credential benefits from an 80% subsidy from the Higher Education Authority Human Capital Initiative (Pillar 3).
